Why is kundali matching so important

Kundali Milan is a compulsory practice in Indian marriages, and specifically in Hindu marriages. People who believe in Vedic astrology give significance to kundali matching before the potential bride and groom actually tie the knot.

This is the process of matching the horoscopes of two people who are going to marry each other. The analysis gives an idea about how happy, prosperous, and wealthy the pair would be after marriage or if they both would suffer and end up getting separated.

In a Kundali, there are 36 gunas; the more gunas of bride and groom match up, the happier the pair is considered.

Let’s dig deeper into the importance of Kundali Milan or matching.

Why is Kundali Milan Necessary?

In India, most marriages are arranged marriages which means the parents of a person search for the partner, and based on the family discussion of both sides, the marriage gets fixed. In a place where marriages are arranged by the families and the bride doesn’t know the groom and vice-versa, kundali matching is a healthy practice.

It is believed that even if two people haven’t met before, their horoscopes tell most things about them. Hence the astrologer reads the horoscopes of both people and matches them together to get the compatibility score.

This is the stage where families can be sure about whether they should proceed further or step back. Surely, it is very rare to see all 36 gunas getting matched, but if a couple doesn’t score even average, the astrologer doesn’t recommend the marriage. However, there are astrological remedies to cure some incompatibilities, but if the issue is severe, the marriage doesn’t happen.

The Kundali matching doesn’t just give an idea about the happiness of a couple in their marital life, it also ensures the happiness level of their offspring. The Kundali Milan depicts how both people would be when it comes to making compromises and adjustments and how well they would go along physically and mentally. If a couple would face problems in conceiving or if the child’s health would suffer, all of this can be predicted with kundali matching.

A person’s horoscope is created using the timing he is born in. The timing also determines his planetary situation and birth star. Many people have Doshas, Dashas, or Mahadashas in their horoscope. When two people get married, their planets affect each other.

With kundali matching, it can be told if two people will affect negatively or positively. If the effects remain adverse and if the situation is treatable, then the astrologer suggests some remedies as well. By implementing these remedies before marriage, two people can happily live together without fearing the ill effects of any Dosha.

After marriage, the planets of two people affect each other in all aspects of life; financial stability is one such aspect. Two people can either be a lucky charm to each other or work the opposite. Kundali reading ensures that a person gets married to a person who brings financial stability in his life and not poverty.

Similarly, a person affects his partner for his professional growth too. In fact, it is seen that some people flourish in life after marriage. This happens because the other person’s planets have a positive influence on their partner’s life. Kundali matching is a way to let the parents know that their son or daughter is going to marry a suitable person.

During the Janam Kundli reading, if the astrologer finds some Doshas, he can also suggest performing a specific Pooja to remove the Dosha and make the bride and groom more compatible.

Significance of  Gunas

The number of gunas matched is given a prime significance because the more gunas match, the more compatible two people are together. In kundali reading, at least 18 gunas should match so the bride and groom can live peacefully after marriage.

18 to 25 Gunas is a good match for marriage

25 to 35 Gunas is a very good match for marriage

32 to 36 Gunas is considered a heavenly match
