Ketoconazole

A lot of people think of using ketoconazole shampoo dandruff in most cases but what exactly is ketoconazole? This is an anti fungal agent when looked at from the broad spectrum. This is very much effective on the malassezia yeat which is also known as the scalp psoriasis. One can buy them at any drug store. This shampoo not only reduces dandruff but also gives relief from the constant itching, but also removes the scaly patches. If a medicated shampoo has 1 to 2 percent of ketoconazole as an active agent then it can be really effective if one uses them at every alternate day.

Salicylic acid

There are many shampoos that contain salicylic acid and they are very effective when it comes to treating itchy scalp and dandruffs. This is a beta hydroxyl acid which is mainly found in evergreen leaves and in the white bark of a willow tree. They also have a lot of anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties which can generate the exfoliation of skins. One can also get rid of psoriasis patches by using this. There are a lot of medicated shampoos which can have this ingredient and when one is using this shampoo they must massage it lightly on the scalp for a daily basis use. But one must not use them if they have aspirin allergy.

Selenium sulfide

It is an anti effective medication which is very much used to treat seborrhea dermatitis. This can slow down the growth of yeast on the scalp and it is available in both shampoo and lotion variation. One can use this only after it is prescribed by the doctors. They can also recommend the dosage of it and one must use the shampoo twice on a weekly basis for the first 2 weeks to get the best results. If any kind of irritation occurs, one must stop using it immediately.

Most ketoconazole shampoos in India along with other medicated ones are safe to use but in some cases if there is sore skin or irritation, one has to stop using them immediately. One must not use essential oils on their scalp as well if they know they are allergic to it. For kid’s usage one must ask a pediatrician first.
