The FrSky Horus 12S Features, read reviews. We’ve talked about frsky’s x9d, x9d plus, qx7, qx7s and, more recently, frsky’s X-Lite transmitter, but we have ignored frsky’s most advanced product, frsky Horus 12s (x12s). In this article, we’ll give a brief overview of Horus x12s and see if it’s worth a $499 price tag.
For the high price you are paying for this premium radio, forsky does make it worth the radio with a full metal suitcase. It’s strong enough that you can put your radio in and kick the box around without damaging anything. You’re kidding! Of course, don’t do it (unless you don’t mind taking risks).
You’ll also get a good neck strap (you’ll definitely need it with this radio!) and a charging brick to charge the 2000mAh battery inside the radio.
The FrSky Horus 12S (X12S) Features
When you pick up this radio, the first thing you notice is how heavy it is! It weighs almost a kilogram! It is much heavier than other radios we are used to, such as x9d or qx7. The reason is obvious, unlike other radios, which is made of CNC aluminum which is obviously heavy plastic in other radios.
The construction quality of this product is amazing. Metal chassis, retro style sliders and knobs and big form factors really throw a premium vibe on anyone looking at it.
The display is full-color (not a touch screen) and it looks really great, even in direct sunlight, which is great because you don’t want to find shadows in a sunny flight just to see the screen.
The frsky Horus 12s is a big radio, even bigger than the x9d from frsky. It is similar in shape to qx7, but wider, taller and heavier than qx7.
It all depends on your thumb, but it may not be good for the pitcher.
Fantastic! The six bearing Hall effect gimbals’ quality with its perfect machining and smoothness ensures that you get the best out of your joystick at the best time, with nothing less to expect from the best quality radio from forsky.
What I particularly like about the radio is the two vertical sliders on the front. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it, but it looks smooth, with perfect smoothness and tension – whatever you want to do with it. Like qx7, frsky Horus 12s also has 4 main switches, 3 pots as well. This is the inspiration of qx7 series products.
The radio is similar to any other forsky radio, except for a fancy physical experience and an additional color display. So the list of features should be the same.
Audio voice output
Full telemetry and real-time data recording
antenna detection and SWR warning
Integrated GPS module and six axis sensor (three axis gyroscope and three axis accelerator)
All CNC 6 ball bearing frames with high precision Hall sensors and expandable rod ends
Safety power switch, integrated belt base
Two types of trainer ports
Built in wireless training system
Positioning encoder, easier to switch flight mode
frsky fros operating system
MP3 player
Industrial high resolution TFT screen readable outdoor
Selection of internal and external antennas
My personal opinion is, No. You spend a lot of money on appearance / design, not function. Of course, it seems inconceivable to show attractive colors and all metal bodies, but let’s face the reality, the importance of radio and fact, if you give up, you may weaken the aluminum chassis and make you think twice.
It costs $499 for broadcasting – although there are fancy radios for the event. By contrast, the x9d plus se, with the exception of a display and a metal body, costs just over $200.

But if you like fantasy, go for it! No matter how you wear it, you can’t be wrong. Its material and quality are first-class, and it may last for several years. The FrSky Horus 12S (X12S) Features, did you find this article useful?
