According to the latest chemical suppliers vitality index report released by m-brain (formerly GIA), Rohm & Haas is the most dynamic chemical supplier in the Asia Pacific region. With its successful combination of regional business, revenue performance and innovation, Rohm & Haas has surpassed its peers in the chemical and energy industries.
In terms of innovation, BASF and AkzoNobel are tied for the first place; due to BASF’s increased production in the Asia Pacific region, more than 50% of sales in the region come from local production.
In the relatively subdivided gas industry, air products has benefited from the gas demand for semiconductor and LCD production, becoming the number one supplier of electronics manufacturing power in Taiwan and South Korea.
In third place was Huntsman, specialty chemical suppliers, which had the best financial performance in terms of sales share and revenue growth in the Asia Pacific region.
New manufacturing facilities in Singapore and China, as well as the acquisition of Ciba’s textile effect business, have promoted Huntsman’s strategy of choosing differentiated business opportunities.
