Economy Crisis As People Opting For Home Entertainment

There is a growing threat of a destabilized economy as more people in Europe are deciding to stay at home on Friday and Saturday nights as opposed to hitting the bars, clubs, and cinemas. In what is already a fragile European economy another potential disaster lays in wait as monetary policies appear to have a lesser effect on citizens than in the past. The number of people saying in to watch TV, a film, or organizing home get-togethers have seen places of entertainment receive less than half their normal capacity.

We have known for a long while that the economy across Europe as a whole has been a fragile one. The causes of the weak economy can be blamed on poor planning from the EU government, bailouts for countries such as Greece, and of course the ongoing saga we have all come to know as BREXIT.

One of the measures that have been put in place is a monetary policy that we all too aware of. Lower interest rates are supposed to ease the finances of business and citizens in debt and discourage people from saving money because they are not getting a return on their investment.

Firstly, people in debt are not seeing the benefits of the low-interest rates, although if the interest rates were higher it could be much worse for them. Rising inflation is crippling these people and businesses. Plus, with a bad economy businesses are not doing so well making it harder to pay off debt. This is one issue.

Secondly, the low monetary policy is supposed to encourage spending, but consumers and businesses are wiser these days. Instead, people are thinking more about the future and as such, they are saving their money anyway just in case disaster does strike and they lose their job.

The result of this lack of spending or lack of ability to spend has seen a growing number of people simply stay at home rather than go out. It doesn’t help that companies such as catalogo Netflix are a cause of people staying in. It is so easy to just link the internet to your home TV and stream movies. That means there is no need for a cinema, hundreds of on-demand series, documentaries, and movies giving members of these websites thousands of hours of entertainment.

Let’s not forget the massive number of computer games out there as well as social media networks. People are quite happy sitting at home chatting with friends and family on social media, learning to cook online, or simply staying in and playing a computer game.

It seems that some businesses aside from Netflix catalogo are benefiting from the downturn and change in consumer trends within this weak European economy. Supermarkets are cashing in because people need food to eat at home as well as comfort foods. Offlicenes or any place selling alcohol make a decent number of sales as many people still want to drink while at home. Take away restaurants are also seeing a rise in sales as people choose to eat in.

However, shopping malls are becoming ghost towns, pubs and clubs are emptying out, and cinema entertainment seems to be at an all-time low. When or how we will see any change in this is not known. Many say we still have not hit the bottom of the pit yet. This means the economy could continue to deteriorate across Europe and even the USA.

Currently, we are looking at a global recession and getting out of that hole for many governments is not easy – especially in Europe where BREXIT should have been done and dusted, yet some people in the UK are making the process or transition almost impossible. There are trade wars and other political agendas of each country around the world also making any recovery or u-turn extremely difficult. For now, it seems people are battening down the hatches, saving money, and all at the determent of our world economy.
