MBBS in Malaysia – Best Option for Indian Students

If you are an Indian student applying to pursue MBBS in Malaysia, studying medicine in Malaysia is the most excellent option for students from India. There are many reasons why an Indian student should choose Malaysia to study MBBS. Malaysia is an Asian country that can reach India in 4 hours 30 minutes and you can reach the medical university in another 40 to 45 minutes from the airport. This Asian country is very close to India and its parents are very easy to get a visa for education and to visit students. A flight ticket from Malaysia to Indian is very cheap so students and parents can travel frequently during the holiday and other occasions. Another reason to choose to study MBBS in Malaysia is that the University of Malaysia has extensive luxury infrastructure and hostel amenities. The MBBS curriculum is similar to the US (United States) curriculum in which Malaysian universities allow international students to pass the USML (United States Munitions List) and MCI (Medical Council of India) exams after graduation. About 40% of Malaysians speak the Tamil language, which is another reason why large numbers of students choose to study MBBS in Malaysia, especially students from Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Medical Universities of Malaysia Approved by MCI (Medical Council of India) are Listed Below –

  1. Taylor’s University
  2. AMU (Asia Metropolitan University)
  3. IMU (International Medical University)
  4. UoC (University of Cyberjaya)
  5. AIMST (Asian Institute of Medicine, Science, and Technology) University

Most of the Malaysian universities are extremely expensive compare to other Asian countries, such as the Russia, Philippines, China, Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and so on. The fee structure of medical universities ranges from 10 lacs to 15 lacs per year. The universities in Malaysia offer 5 years of MBBS course, and some medical universities offer an MD (Doctor of Medicine) in medicine. If you choose to do MBBS in Abroad from Malaysia, then there are 2 intakes you can go for – the March intake and the September intake. Some medical colleges also offer intake in June too. One of the main reasons why Indian students choose to study MBBS in Malaysia is the USMLE (the United States Medical Licensing Examination) route.
