Spring Back Into Action After A Poor Night’s Sleep

Almost everyone on the planet is aware of how sleep plays a critical role in maintaining a healthy body and mind. Poor sleep has the ability to play havoc with your life in more ways than one. Unfortunately, each one of us has fallen prey to a poor night of sleep more than once in our lives. Thankfully enough, here are a few tips to help you bounce back and conquer the day even if you got poor sleep the night before:

  • You Snooze, You Lose!

The snooze button might seem tempting when you did not get enough sleep the previous night. However, it is a good idea to avoid hitting the snooze button to get a good start on your day and avoid choppy sleep, which will make you feel crankier.

  • Squeeze In Physical Activity

Although going for a short run or climbing stairs to work might not seem appealing after a sleepless night, studies show that ten minutes of physical activity gives you more energy than half a cup of coffee. So wipe away those blues, and start moving your body now!

  • Deep Breathing Exercises

  • No Afternoon Naps

The Mayo Clinic recommends saying no to afternoon naps if you don’t want to mess up your sleep schedule. A nap in the afternoon might make it harder for you to fall asleep at night, leading to poor sleep and exhaustion the next day as well. However, a power nap of around ten minutes will give you an energy boost as well as improve your cognitive performance and help you get through the day.

  • Eat A Healthy Breakfast

  • Jump In The Shower
