They had three different goals, three different degrees and three different degree journeys. However, one thing that sisters Angela, Andrea and Adrianna all had in common was their support for one another. Phoenix Degree Journeys-
Andrea was the first to earn her degree, a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix in 2018.
Her success inspired her sister Angela to seek a degree to provide better security for her unborn daughter. Adrianna, the youngest, is still working on her degree. But with the encouragement of her sisters, she’s sure she’ll be able to finish on time in 2022.
All three sisters cite the flexibility of University of Phoenix online classes as contributing to their success. All three women were working full time at the same time they decided to pursue their higher education. Online classes allowed them to better manage their time and attend to classes and assignments around their work and family obligations.

If they know what they can and can’t expect from you, it will lessen the blow when you’re inevitably less available than you used to be. As you communicate your needs, give them the chance to do the same. Hernandez recommends working together to come up with a schedule that makes the most sense for everyone.
Now a high school teacher, he shares those memories with his students. His message is that “success is possible; all you have to do is try.”
He wants to show them that if he could concentrate on his studies and complete his degree while serving overseas in a volatile and unpredictable environment, they can overcome any obstacle they may face in life.
Steer is just one of numerous alumni who attended University of Phoenix while deployed overseas with branches of the U.S. military. The University is familiar with accommodating the unique challenges faced by active duty service men and women, veterans and military spouses.
University of Phoenix academic counselors were also important to all three women but especially to Angela. In the middle of her degree journey, she found herself in the middle of a domestic abuse situation.
For her safety and that of her daughter, she had to quickly move to another city and change jobs.

The stress of the situation threatened to derail her degree journey. However, with the help and compassion of her advisor, she was able to take a five-month emergency leave from her studies, reshape her life and get back on track with her studies. Says Angela, “I would have failed and been so stressed out with my studies. University of Phoenix’s options saved me.”

Both older sisters are thrilled that their mother was able to see them graduate. She is looking forward to seeing Adrianna graduate in two years. Says Andrea, “The whole experience at University of Phoenix has brought our family closer together”.
