What Makes Grass Fed Meats Better Than the Grain Fed Meats?

The meat industry has expanded exponentially and in the current times, you have many options to choose from. It’s not just the choice among beef, lamb, pork, chickens, etc., but you have a variety in them as well. You can choose from among grain fed meats, grass fed meats, organic meats, organic grass fed meats, grass finished meats, omega 3 meats, etc.

With all these options, people are increasingly inclined towards choosing grass fed meats considering that they are better. However, many people are still confused, and they want to know what makes grass fed meats better.

Well, here are some characteristics that differentiate grass fed meats from the grain fed ones and shows that the grass fed variety is a much better option.

Grass Fed Meats V/s Grain Fed Meats

  1. Grass Fed Meats are More Nutritious

When you are talking about food, you want to know about its nutritional value. Grass fed meats are much more nutritious in comparison to the grain fed meats. When you talk about grain fed meats, they have a rich protein content, which is good. But at the same time they are very rich in saturated fats too, which is a big no no when you want to have healthier and nutritious foods.

Grass fed meats have up to 5 times richer content of nutrients in them and additionally have a very low amount of saturated fats in them and thus fewer calories. So, they are more nutritious and healthier and you can have them as much as you want without worrying about gaining weight or losing out on your fitness levels.

2. Grass Fed Meats have a Better Taste

A great, appetizing taste and flavor is all you want in your meals and you can enjoy that better with grass fed meats. Grass fed meats are raised naturally and thus they have a very natural and earthy flavor to them which feels better on the tongue. Also, they have a leaner texture and thus grass fed steaks are much juicier in comparison to the grain fed steaks.

All you need is to cook the grass fed meats right and they make for the most appetizing meals ever.

3. Grass Fed Meats are Environmentally Friendly

The environmentalists have always been against meat production and consumption claiming that it’s bad for the environment. Well, that can be true considering that gallons of water is required to raise livestock for producing grain fed meats. However, when you talk about grass fed meats, the livestock is raised naturally and humanely. So, the grass fed meats are environmentally friendly due to their natural raising and production process.

Conclusion

So, grass fed meats have many advantages over the grain fed ones which are all reason enough to claim that they are better. They are healthier with a great taste and you have natural foods when you are eating grass fed meats. So, take to them and switch to better meat options.
