Everything you need to know about drum, dumpers, and tilters

Construction involves a lot of machinery. From mixers to dumpers, there is a lot of equipment involved in construction. Drum dumpers and tilters are used to inverting the containers that have the building materials inside. As these containers are very heavy in weight, human labor is not very efficient in tilting them. Hence, drum tilters are used to tilting the drums and empty the materials inside. These drum dumpers are also known as inverters. Not to be confused with the other inverters, they have nothing to do with the electric charge. They are named so just because they simply pour out the materials by tilting the containers to 180 degrees.

These drum dumpers are not only used in the construction sector solely. They are also used for waste management and food transportation purposes. The drum titlers are also used in factories to manage the large scale production and are also used in the packing line of products. The drum filters are used for their benefits like good handling, increased efficiency, and reduced time and labor.

Also, these tilters can simply be used for storage and retrieval uses of any product. These units offer maximum flexibility, all the while reducing the injuries of the labor involved in the handling of such units. They also keep the damage to the goods to a bare minimum or zero damage at all.

These drum dumpers and tilters are available in the market in three categories. The three different styles of dumpers and tilters popular in the market are box dumpers, cart dumpers, and drum dumpers. Box dumpers, as the name suggests, is a cubical material that holds the contents inside it within a chute.

The chute is present on either the top of the dumper or on the bottom of the dumper. The chute is used to control the flow of the contents present inside the dumpers. The dumpers tilt the container to empty out the content or to transfer the content from the dumper to the packing cartons. The chute is also known as the tipster of the dumper.

Other components of the dumper include a vertical lift, containment unit that secures the content from dust, and dump equipment. There are also elevated box dumpers that have floor level and elevation levels.

Cart dumpers are most commonly used in the waste management and recycling process. The dumpers are operated through controls and are powered by a hydraulic engine. The various varieties of cart dumpers available in the market are:

  • Ground-level
  • Dock level
  • Vehicle-mounted.

Drum dumpers are used to extract the contents from a drum-shaped container. They tilt the containers to full 180 degrees for the content to be poured out. The basic components of a drum dumper are dust containment unit, lift, and the dumping unit, and heightened dumping units. There are three types of drum dumpers that fit according to the specific needs. These three drum dumpers are:

  • Stationary drum dumpers
  • Mobile drum dumpers
  • Dumpers with forklift attachments

Stationary drum dumpers are fixed onto the ground for the purpose of stability. These dumpers are sold in both single and dual-stage models. An additional option of the portable base is also being included in the latest models.

Mobile drum dumpers can be either manually handled or be machine operated. The machine operated mobile drum dumpers have a greater weight capacity than the manually handled mobile drum dumpers.

The forklift drum dumpers are used to dump the materials from a height or haul the contents for long distances.

To select the best type of dumper to match your requirements, you need to consider the weight capacity of the unit. Other factors, such as the tilt angle and the maximum dumping height, must also be considered when finalizing the drum dumper.
