At auto expo 2020 the Ignis facelift was finally unveiled by Maruti Suzuki. Since the debut of Ignis in 2017, This is the first update to the Ignis. All over the concept, it receives minor changes. This is now powered by an engine which BS6-compliant petrol engine. Minor aesthetic changes are expected in Ignis.

DESIGN:

The exterior look of the Ignis has minor changes. To notice the difference you need a microscope. At the front of Ignis with silver inserts, there are new front and rear bumpers. A grille is there in front which shares a resemblance to the S-Presso. The unchanged parts are overall body, headlamps and tail lamps.

This Maruti Suzuki Ignis is available in five new color options which include new turquoise, stargaze blue dual-tone silver/black, lucent orange and lucent orange dual-tone black.

The key updates can be noticed on the front of Ignis which has redesigned the front grille with the toothed element which is U shaped, the addition of faux skid plate up front and rear and revised front bumper. It comes with black colored pillars, grey-colored roof rails. To stretch the lifecycle of the existing model the tail lamps are subtly updated.

INTERIOR AND FEATURES:

The interior look of the Ignis facelift is largely similar to its predecessor. Aside from a bigger boot at 275 liters. The other feature updates include a new touch screen for the infotainment system which is 7- inch in length. This system is with android auto and urban fabric options and apple car play as well as standard.

The connection is used for cloud functions, onboard navigation and voice recognition, alongside, live traffic status. The equipment which is a carryover from the older Ignis includes features like dual airbags, climate control, steering- mounted audio controls and ABS+EBD.

ENGINES:

Under the Ignis facelift, the hood is the biggest update. The engine is a K series VVT petrol engine that has a BS 6 emission regulation. Ignis retains the 1.2-liter K12B petrol engine and albeit in a BS6 guise. The production of power and torque are the same as its predecessor which gives the 83 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque.

The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual and with an AMT gearbox option. The efficiency of the fuel is yet to be revealed. The Ignis predecessor BS4 version gave a mileage of 20.89 KMPL.

LAUNCH:

Is facelift by Maruti Suzuki is expected for a launch after the expo, shortly within this month? The price of the Ignis is to be likely at a premium of Rs 25,000. The current model is having an additional kit and using to BS6 upgrades.

RIVALS:

Once the Ignis, launched in India. The likes of the Ford Figo, the Hyundai grand i10 Nios, and Maruti Suzuki will be taken by the Ignis facelift.
