The COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to change lives and industries day by day. Quarantine orders aren’t as strict as they used to be, however, rules about social distancing and person-to-person contacts still remain to be implemented. Because of this, It looks like large grouped gatherings aren’t happening any time soon. This means, no concerts, conventions, and meetings. So what does this mean for events places like convention centers? It has left them empty for the past few months. How can they rebound or navigate their way towards the new normal?

Practicing Social Distancing In Exhibition Centers

You may think that social distancing in events spaces is impossible, however, this is not the case. With adaptations and modifications, social distancing can be maintained in convention centers during this pandemic. So, if you see an event happening at a convention center near you, chances are, there may be some drastic changes, but for good reasons. Keeping safe and healthy is today’s top priority!

Under this new normal, convention centers will be most likely managing the flow of visitors and people coming to the area. There will be more markings on the floor, and added security set up in the space to observe the practice of social distancing. Managers and organizers will always predefine schedules during these times to accommodate everyone’s needs.

Convention centers will also most likely have booths further away from each other to actualize social distancing. Some may even implement glass or plastic dividers as an added safety measure in the space.

In line with added safety measures, expect the no mask no entry protocol to be implemented as well. During these times, anticipate more visible signages, reminding people that only people with masks are only allowed to enter. Convention centers will also have their own contactless temperature scanning.

Lastly, expect that buffets, food carts, and food stalls aren’t going to make an appearance in your events any time soon. But, don’t worry, pre-packaged meals are here to save the day. Catering services are now considering pre-packaged meals that are stored individually for ultimate safe consumption and the prevention of the contamination of food.

With the proper modifications and new implementations, social distancing can still be practiced in convention centers and events may still be resumed. As a visitor, the safety of yourself and the people around you is your responsibility. Ensure that once you are attending an event during this pandemic, to follow all rules and regulations.

This method has been of huge help to medical facilities! Some hospitals are even collaborating with convention centers to provide health workers that can care for the patients. Some, even consist of volunteers, clients, and partners. In fact, according to this article by Inquirer, the government has started to concert convention and evacuation center’s into quarantine facilities as a way to augment the country’s healthcare system. Everyone’s been seeing the excellent benefit of convention centers during these times!

Here, social distancing is still being highly implemented. Isolated cubicles are equipped in COVID-19 facilities. Cleaning services and maintenance staff are also there to further ensure the safety in these spaces.
