Rolls Royce Ghost: The ultimate in grandiose

The Ghost is just another Rolls Royce on the block, with all the familiar traits that we love about them. The only change it has is a slightly more buff edge and not-as-grand front grille as other members of the Royce family. The car is meant for conservative driving and a go around when the chauffeur has taken a day off. The car also doesn’t capture the fury reaction of the passers-by but does get attention inclined towards respect and deference. The Rolls Royce Ghost is not as thrilling as the Phantom or a Lamborghini or Ferrari.

The extraordinary charm and luxury is exuded by the car are primarily due to its root organization, BMW. The Rolls Royce Ghost is based on the last generation BMW 7 series. You cannot get a lot of similarities between the two. Apart from the iDrive infotainment system which can get invisible with a press of a button, there is nothing alike. The driving style is also the signature soundless Rolls Royce type, nothing near to the seven series.

Rolls Royce Ghost is charged up with a 6.5-liter twin-turbocharged V12 that generates a lot of force to haul the car. The beast churns out about 563 horsepower, thanks to the massive V12. Though this much power was not needed. The team could have gone with a V8 to do the job, but it’s a Rolls’ aim to not go for a compromise. The luxury and sophistication the car holds are nothing different than having more than necessary.

Talking about the drive in the 2018 Ghost, you can expect utmost relaxation inside the cabin. This car will be of optimum comfort if you leave the job of driving to someone else. Still, if you decide to fancy it yourself then you will definitely complement that how easy the Ghost is to manage. The drive is less stressful than any regular sedan (Obviously) despite being long and wide. This stage of comfort and management is achieved by the large mirrors on the sides accompanied my multiple cameras giving you an alert every time you tend to hit something.

The car meters a 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds which is quite impressive for a huge car like the Ghost. As the Ghost is a huge car, you have to be careful while turning this beast.

The interior of the car is just ecstatic. The elegance and the level of polished material used in the cabin are much expected from a 200,000 pounds- plus car, which has been beautifully done by Rolls Royce. Once you are inside you can instantly feel the driver-centric dashboard with a lot of buttons, just like an airplane (somewhat). The huge boot space and enough legroom area in the rear also make it exciting to experience the rear cabin as well.

The iDrive infotainment system integrated into the car leaves you engaged in some activity or the other. With an interactive 10.2-inch central display with a touchpad you can switch to your favorite entertainment instantly, also it has got a stereo sound system which is rich in its own way. The no compromise on quality as always can be witnessed in the 2018 Rolls Royce Ghost.

If you are okay to give her the care which she demands and can spend a few hundred thousand pounds on the entry-level car, then it is just a marvelous car you can own.

The 2018 Rolls Royce ghost price is about 225,400 pounds for the entry-level and goes up to 260,800 for few add-ons. If you go for this car and later when someone pulls over beside in a Phantom you will definitely rage upon yourself because of the compromise. Overall the Rolls Royce Ghost can be an excellent choice in this range undertaking areas like performance, luxury and the Rolls Royce as it is.
